As well as elected representatives the Board of Trustees of a Catholic School are required to have members representing the Proprietor.  Most schools have four such members.

In Primary schools, the Parish Priest in consultation with the Principal, and in Diocesan Secondary schools, the Principal, makes these recommendations to the Bishop using the required form and appointment criteria.
